Satodiyu tourney kick offs in city

The vadodara satodiyu championship is a national competition in pittu, and it kicked off on Monday. Kailash Vijayvargiya, the BJP's national general secretary and the president of the Pittu Federation of India, inaugurated the event. Forty teams from 21 states and union territories are participating in the event. The competition will conclude on Wednesday.

Row over offering of namaz on MSU campus

A religious storm has erupted at Mumbai's Vadodara University after a couple of students were found offering namaz near the Sanskrit Mahavidyalaya. The issue was brought to the attention of the security personnel and the police, who advised the students against the act. A group of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal (BD) workers later reached the campus and chanted Hanuman Chalisa and Ram Dhun at the place. 2 workers die, 3 others injured in Cachar landslide

A landslide killed two workers and injured three others near a construction site in Lakhimpur subdivision of Cachar district on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Krishna Roy, 33, and Saajanti Munda, 27. Local residents immediately rushed to rescue those trapped in the debris and the police and the SDRF reached soon after and joined the rescue works.

2 trampled to death by elephants in Charaideo district

A herd of wild elephants attacked and killed two men on a bicycle in a remote area of Charaideo District on Monday morning. Locals said that the herd of elephants appeared out of nowhere and crushed the men to death. The elephants then went on a rampage and destroyed two huts in the area before retreating into the wild. Pharmacist held for throwing acid at woman in Dhekiajuli

In Assam, a pharmacy owner was arrested for throwing acid on a 35-year-old woman following an argument. Police said that the accused, identified as Bachhu Kar, has been booked under charges of wrongful confinement and voluntarily causing grievous hurt by use of acid under the Indian Penal Code, IPC. Dhekiajuli OC Raja Sarkar said that the incident took place near the Sapai Bagan area. According to reports, the accused and the victim were acquaintances.
