Karnataka ups Covid testing in wake of rising JN.1 variant cases in border states
With the threat of Covid resurgence, the Karnataka government directed district health officials to test all severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) cases and at least one in 20 influenza-like illness (ILI) cases for Covid. Citizens over 60 and those with comorbidities are mandated to wear masks. Karnataka increased surveillance in border districts due to the JN.1 Covid subvariant.
