[Women's Basketball] Saints Drop to Lakers on the Road

Chicago, Ill. The Holy Cross women's basketball team continued their conference play today when they traveled to Roosevelt University. Both teams were good offensively in this game and led to a competitive battle throughout the game. Roosevelt had an efficient start and would give them a 20-19 lead at the end of the first. In the second quarter, Jordyn Smith led the Saints in scoring with 10 points for the quarter. With good scoring from Smith, the Saints would only trail by one and go into the half down 42-41. The Saints ability to shoot efficiently from field and from the free throw line would give the Saints the lead in the third quarter. The Saints shot 41% from the field and 83% from the free throw line in the quarter and would lead 62-60 going into the fourth quarter. Jordyn Smith would find her shot once again and would give the Saints 12 points in the quarter. Roosevelt shot great from the field in the fourth quarter and would lead to Roosevelt taking back the lead in the quarter. Despite Smith's great scoring in the game, the Saints would fall 90-87. With the loss, Holy Cross drops to 5-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play, while Roosevelt University improves to 2-6 and 2-4.
