That’s What It’s Like And I Won – Conor Coady On Bonding With England Team-mate
Both Coady and Rashford are at the World Cup with England, albeit with the Everton star having not yet played a minute for England.
Rashford, on the other hand, has played in all four games and has three goals to his name, even starting the match against Wales where he grabbed a brace.
Coady has grown close to Rashford with doing strength work in the gym together being one of the factors of them bonding.
The Everton star boasted that the pair do battles while doing strength work and he ended up beating the Manchester United attacker handily.
Speaking to England’s in-house media, Coady said: “I spend a lot of time with him, he’s a great guy.
“He’s someone I have got quite close to.
“We do a lot of strength work in the gym before training, different things and it’s something where we try to do battles with each other.
“Trying to get the best scores, trying to get the best out of each other, that’s what it’s like and I won.
“We don’t need to go any further, he’ll be probably try to come sit here and tell you he tried to beat me but it was three sets, he ended up doing five sets and still didn’t beat me.”
England face reigning champions France in the quarter-final of the World Cup and Coady will be hoping his team progress to the semi-final stage, with or without him in it.
