"Harry & Meghan," a new Netflix documentary series, explores the origins of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's relationship and their conflicts with the British royal family. The show is being released in two volumes, with the first streaming now, and the second arriving December 15.

The series features interviews with Harry and Meghan that detail how their romance began and the challenges they've faced as a couple, as well as commentary from historians and other experts on the royal family. "Harry & Meghan" is helmed by award-winning director Liz Garbus, who previously directed the Oscar-nominated documentary "What Happened, Miss Simone."

Prince Harry and Meghan married in 2018 and announced their decision to step down from their public roles within the royal family in 2020. In a widely viewed 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey, the couple expressed their frustrations and concerns with what they felt was unfair targeting and criticism from British media, as well as racial tension between Meghan and the royal family's staff. 

The couple currently lives in Southern California with their two children and has been focused on nonprofit and charity work. 

How to watch 'Harry & Meghan'

You can now watch "Harry & Meghan" exclusively on Netflix. The first three episodes debuted on December 8 as part of Volume One. A second volume, containing three more episodes, will premiere on December 15.

Netflix starts at $7 a month for ad-supported 720p streaming, or $10 a month for ad-free 720p streaming. You can upgrade to 1080p streaming with a Standard plan for $15.49 a month, or 4K streaming with a Premium plan for $20 a month.

The Netflix app is available on Apple and Android devices, Roku, Fire TV, Chromecast, PlayStation, Xbox, and most smart TVs. "Harry & Meghan" is available in 4K resolution with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos on supported devices with Netflix Premium. 

How many episodes are in 'Harry & Meghan'?

"Harry & Meghan" will consist of six episodes, but Netflix is separating them into two volumes for release. The first volume debuted December 8 with three episodes, and the second volume will debut December 15 with the final three episodes.

Each episode runs about an hour long.
