Man Who Released 5,000 Taliban Prisoners Is Angry Griner Is Released
Donald Trump Jr. came unglued on Truth Social and Twitter after President Biden secured Brittany Griner's release from a Russian penal colony. Paul Whelan, who has been held in Russia since 2018 on an espionage charge, wasn't part of the prisoner swap. Russia, for some reason, is treating Whelan's case differently.
So, Junior went off, and now his father, who released 5,000 Taliban prisoners, is ranting about the prisoner swap, too.
"What kind of a deal is it to swap Brittney Griner, a basketball player who openly hates our Country, for the man known as "The Merchant of Death," who is one of the biggest arms dealers anywhere in the World, and responsible for tens of thousands of deaths and horrific injuries," he wrote. "Why wasn't former Marine Paul Whelan included in this totally one-sided transaction? He would have been let out for the asking. What a "stupid" and unpatriotic embarrassment for the USA!!!"
Over the summer, on The Clay Travis and Buck Sexton Show, Trump lashed out over the proposed deal by the Biden administration to do the prisoner swap with Russia.
Via Newsweek:
Trump called Griner "potentially spoiled" and deserving of imprisonment after she was detained in a Moscow airport for possessing vape cartridges that contained cannabis oil, a violation which resulted in a sentence of nine years in a Russian prison camp.
