Woman finds letter she wrote to herself last Christmas while putting up the decorations & it’s making people emotional

IT’S one part of Christmas that lots of people hate – getting all of the decorations down from the loft to put up.

But one woman made the process a whole lot more enjoyable by including a letter to herself in the Christmas tree when she put it away last year.

“So last year, and I completely forgot about this, I did myself a little envelope and put it in with the Christmas tree when I put it away in my loft,” Katie explained in her video on TikTok.

“Right, I actually can’t remember what I put.”

As she opened the envelope, she first pulled out a £10 note.

She then took out the accompanying letter, and began to read: “Dear me, well done for putting the tree up.

“Now go and treat yourself to a bottle of vodka.

“Don’t get stressed this year, it’s one day. Don’t feel guilty about anything, it’s your life.

“And if you can’t afford that extra present, tough. Don’t bust your balls trying to buy it.”

The letter continued: “Work will probably be s**t right now, and I’m sorry.

“But it can’t get any worse than last year, right?”

And concluding, Katie had written: “You’ve got this, you badass f**king legend.”

“Aww I just made myself happy,” she wrote over the video.

Before adding in the caption: “Completely forgot I put this letter to myself in the loft with the tree.”

People were quick to comment on the video, with many admitting Katie’s revisiting of her letter had left them emotional.

“This is amazing. I’m gonna get us all to do it in my house,” one wrote.

“Why did this make me cry?” another questioned.

“Hope you bought the vodka,” someone else commented.

To which Katie replied: “I have vodka in already, treated myself to some heating instead.”
