U.S. dollar edges up after PPI data

NEW YORK, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. dollar rose slightly in late trading on Friday after the U.S. producer inflation came in hotter than expected.

The U.S. producer price index (PPI) rose 0.3 percent in November, above the 0.2 percent consensus, for a 7.4 percent year-on-year increase, the Labor Department reported on Friday.

The PPI excluding food, energy and trade services rose 0.3 percent, also toppi
