Kathy Hilton Apologizes for Applying Lipstick During Mariska Hargitay's Speech at People's Choice Awards 2022
Kathy Hilton is addressing her viral moment at the 2022 People’s Choice Awards earlier this week.
During the awards show, Kathy and her Real Housewives of Beverly Hills co-stars presented Mariska Hargitay with Best Drama TV Star Award for her work in Law & Order: SVU.
In the middle of Mariska‘s heartfelt speech, Kathy opened her clutch, took out lipstick, and applied it to her lips. Viewers were shocked she would do that while Mariska spoke on stage and while Kathy was fully on camera.
In a new interview, Kathy said that she reached out Mariska to apologize.

“I adore and I respect Mariska very much, I already reached out to her, DMed her, I want to get her address, I feel terrible,” Kathy told Extra, before looking directly at the camera. “I apologize, Mariska, I am really sorry. I look forward to talking to you.”
She continued, “I would never do anything to be rude intentionally and I’m really sorry, it was my first time being back on the stage with some of the girls too [after filming RHOBH season 12].”
