Woman fumes about ‘lack of thought’ that went into her secret Santa present but everyone’s saying the same thing

A WOMAN has vented her anger over the “lack of thought” that went into her secret Santa present – but it’s something else that’s got people talking.

Monique, who posts under the acronym @yomomocita, took to TikTok and shared a video where she explains: “This is why I don’t play secret Santa.”

She captioned the post: “First gift is what I gave my secret Santa second is what I got I hate it here.”

In the clip, she begins by sifting through the bag of goodies that she gave to her secret Santa – including a full-size Fenty Beauty by Rihanna full frontal volume mascara, Strawberry Lip Balm and a Sephora makeup sample.

Next, she goes on to reveal the present she received – a brown paper bag consisting of nothing more than a banana, orange, apple and courgette.

In a second video, Monique continues: “There was obviously a budget for the secret Santa.

“We were given two lists of what the people wanted – on my list was hot Cheeto fries so it’s not about the price, it was about the fact she didn’t think at all.

“There was no thought put into that.”

But much to Monique’s surprise, it was actually her present that really got social media users talking – in particular the fact she gifted a makeup sample.

“Ngl, I’d be mad at both because are these samples???” wrote one.

A second agreed: “But the samples are better? Y’all both could’ve done better.”

Elsewhere, others defended Monique’s reaction and agreed she had every right to be annoyed.

“They could have just bought an actual fruit basket,” joked one.

A second quipped: “They just went through their fridge.”

A third penned: “Nothing could have prepared me…”

Meanwhile, a fourth vented: “Honestly, I would have taken my gift back for real.”

Another pointed out: “I only do Secret Santa if there’s a budget and a wish list involved, otherwise I’ll pass.”

Others took the opportunity to share the bad secret Santa presents they’d been gifted in the past.

“Girl! I got a empty Starbucks gift card as my Secret Santa one year,” revealed one.

A second recalled: “I stopped doing secret Santa for this reason. I got a Ritzs pack and a orange. The minimum amount was £24 ($30) dollar and I literally got left over lunch.”

Another admitted: “Did Secret Santa once years ago & never again… gave cute workout shorts (on sale) and received a tiny snowman origami.”
