Beautiful morning but micro waves
Hello Friends,
A light NW breeze and sunny skies greeted Tuesday morning early risers. Sadly, as the picture shows, we have no real waves to speak of. You might possibly get the odd knee high slide with a mal, but you’ll want to check the more direct south exposures for something short-boardable. Swell was coming from 154° with heights at sea of around a metre and a period of just 7 seconds. Tide was low at 0540 and will be back to high at 1210.
From the look of the swell models, we’ll probably have to wait until Thursday for the energy levels to improve. Friday and Saturday morning might see things get interesting as a solid 3+ metre, straight south swell fills in. The southerly wind will be hammering it from probably late morning both days.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!
Weather Situation
A trough is pushing north over the far northeast of the state this morning. Winds in most areas will briefly turn northeasterly again late today, before a low near Tasmania brings another southerly change on Wednesday. This low may generate large and powerful waves from Thursday and will then gradually move east and weaken on the weekend.
