Sets at south exposures
Hello Friends,
At first glance this morning from the RealSurf HQ crows nest, it looked to be pretty much flat at the point and Kiddies. But up the beach toward the Pole, there was a more distinct line and after awhile a little set appeared (see above). The Botany Bay buoy was seeing 2 metres of 8 second swell from 185° – so most of the energy will be blowing past us. Speaking of blowing, the wind was WSW at 13-19 kts as of 0800.
As a glance at the Bureau’s forecast below reveals, we can expect the wind to ramp up into the 20-30 kt range as the swell builds into the 3-5 metre range at sea by this afternoon. Given the period and direction, I’m not expecting it to be that big along the beaches, but it should still be pretty solid at the magnets after lunch.
I plan to keep an eye on things and will update if I get a chance later.
The Goat should be along with his forecast later too. Should make for interesting reading…
