In the interview, Paul explains that the dance was made up on the spot, in between filming scenes.
“We just spent every lunch hour for a week in the basement of this house just practicing different dumb things that we could do,” he explains to Wide Open Country. “Over the course of the week, it evolved into what it evolved into. We basically stopped choreographing when we had to shoot.”
Paul, who also wrote the film with Kimberley Sustad, added that the crew had to tell them to stop dancing to film.
“They were like, ‘Guys, we’re shooting right now.’ And we’re like, ‘Okay, okay, we’re coming! Coming, coming!’ And then we just did it. And I think the take that they used was our first take. I think we just went up there and shot it dirty.”
Three Wise Men and a Baby will air today, December 15 at 4 p.m. on Hallmark Channel.
