Devastated friends share emotional tributes to ‘one of a kind’ woman, 60, after body found on a beach

DEVASTATED pals have paid tribute to a missing woman after police tragically found a body on a beach as they searched for her.

Fiona Thomson, 60, disappeared on December 12 in the coastal town of Dalgety Bay in Fife, Scotland.

She was reported missing by her loved ones seeing cops launch a desperate search.

Officers then sadly discovered a body on a beach in Gullane, East Lothian, at 7.50am on Thursday – 42 miles from Fiona’s home.

No formal identification has yet taken place, but the 60-year-old’s family have been informed.

There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, Police Scotland said.

Tributes have since poured in from heartbroken family members and friends, who dubbed Fiona “one of a kind” and a “force to be reckoned with.”

One close pal wrote on Facebook: “Absolutely devastated, such sad news, I just cant believe it. You will be very sadly missed Fiona, you were such a lovely bubbly lady, you will never be forgotten.”

Another described Fiona as a “wonderful, warm, caring friend” in a poignant social media post.

They wrote: “We’ll never forget our dear colleague and friend. She was a wonderful, warm, caring friend.

“Will miss her so much, just can’t believe we won’t see her again. Rest in peace dear friend.”

A third added: “Such desperately sad news. Fiona was a force to be reckoned with and one of a kind.

“Condolences to her family. Rest easy my friend.”

And another said: “She was such an amazing friend. I’ll miss her so much.”

Colleagues and neighbours also passed on their condolences to the “beautiful” 60-year-old in wake of the grim find.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “At 7.50 am on Thursday, December 15, officers were made aware of the body of a woman being found on beach at Gullane.

“Although formal identification has yet to take place, the family of Fiona Thomson, 60, who was reported missing from Dalgety bay, have been informed.

“There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
