Milestones: Good news about Marin people

Honors list: Eliana Halbrecht, of Kentfield, was named to the head of school scholar honors list at Pomfret School in Pomfret, Connecticut, for the fall 2022 semester.

Recognition: Claire Travers, of Tam Valley, helped develop the screenplay for “East of Java.” It recently won best screenplay at the AFIN International Film Festival in Brisbane, Australia.

Recognition: The Mill Valley Historical Society honored local historians Betty Goerke and Chuck Oldenburg with lifetime achievement awards. Goerke is an emeritus board member of the Mill Valley Historical Society and the author of several books about Coast Miwok Indians. Oldenburg led the creation of 10 guidebooks for the Mill Valley Historical Society’s annual walking tours, and has also authored 180 history articles for the Homestead Valley monthly newsletter.
