I have always struggled to get an erection and even when I do it goes down immediately
DEAR DEIDRE: I HAVE always struggled to get an erection and even when I did get one it would go down very quickly.
I am 26. I grew up in a family where sex was never discussed.
My mum told me it was seedy to talk about it, so we never did.
My last three relationships have ended because of this issue.
It’s like my brain and body aren’t working together.
I’ve watched life return to normal after the pandemic and I see couples all loved up everywhere, but I’ve given up on meeting anyone ever again.

I don’t think I have anything to offer when it comes to sex.
Even my doctor couldn’t help me.
MORE FROM DEAR DEIDRE
DEIDRE SAYS:This is a psychological issue.
Because you were brought up in a household where talking about sex was considered dirty and this in itself can cause a mental block that prevents you from enjoying sex.
Our sexual organs are very strongly linked to our brains. Please consider speaking to a sex therapist.
See cosrt.org.uk to find a therapist near you.
My support pack Solving Erection Problems should also help you too.
