Messi scored the first goal of the match and then Di Maria scored the second goal. ARG were 2-0 at half-time. Then came Kylian Mbappe, who scored two goals in under two minutes. Scores were leveled and the Messi scored again in extra time giving ARG a 3-2 lead. Mbappe’s hat-trick leveled it again.

The final went into penalties. Both Mbappe and Messi scored the first goal but France went on and missed their next two shot, while Argentina scored. France scored in their fourth attempt but it was too late as ARG scored the winner.
