Approval soon? Govt panel set to discuss pod taxi project

The state government's pod taxi project will be finalized on December 26 in Lucknow. Officials said that the meeting would be convened under the chairmanship of the commissioner for infrastructure and industrial development and attended by additional chief secretaries of the finance and planning departments along with the principal secretary of the justice department. The cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 6415 crore while the concession period will be of 35 years. Each pod taxi will have a seating capacity of eight passengers and another five can stand. The proposed gtc will be developed at the noida international airport to provide seamless connectivity between various modes of transport. Cabs and bus services apart from private parking and large concourse area with commercial spaces and lounges will be available at the gtc.
