The ocean’s looking very tiny this morning at Dee Why. There were a few hopefuls bobbing around just off the beach, but the combination of a sub- 1 metre SE swell and a nearly 2 metre high tide at 0845 meant the best they could hope for was a very occasional knee high set. So, a good day to get up to other things if you need to.
A high pressure system over the southern Tasman Sea currently extends a ridge towards the New South Wales coast, directing northeasterly winds over coastal waters as a trough approaches from the west. This trough will bring a weak westerly change to the coast during Friday, with winds gradually returning to northeasterly by Sunday as a new high over the Tasman Sea becomes dominant.
