The BJP is likely to rejig their cabinet soon, and two BJP legislators from Karnataka (Keshav Eshwarappa and Ramesh Jarkiholi) skipped the first three days of the assembly session in Belagavi because they were given a formal assurance from the chief minister that they would be given a cabinet position soon. The chief minister is expected to go to Delhi next week to discuss the matter with the party brass and I have informed the high command about the need for a cabinet expansion. I am confident that they will give consent for it. Meanwhile, the cabinet expansion rumors have cast a shadow on the election for the deputy speaker of the legislative assembly. Aspirants are eyeing a ministerial berth over the constitutional post, and the election is unlikely in the current winter session.
