The teacher who sustained grievous injuries while trying to rescue her 10-year-old son from being attacked by a fellow teacher succumbed to her injuries at Kim's Hospital on Thursday. Geeta's son Bharat Baraker was viciously thrashed with a shovel by Muttappa Hadagali 33 and then thrown off the first floor of the school building on Monday morning. The boy was declared brought dead at Kim's Hospital. Muttappa was arrested on Tuesday from the outskirts of Nagarwans where he was hiding. Geeta who had sustained severe injuries did not respond to treatment said police. Muttappa was allegedly jealous that Geeta had paid more attention to another male teacher while on a recent school trip he attacked her son Bharat to exact revenge for being cold shouldered by her. He told police Geeta is survived by a daughter who is in class 9 and her unwell husband.
