On Thursday, a 27-year-old garment manufacturing unit labourer in Sachin, India attempted to kill his former girlfriend by slashing her throat on a public road. The victim, Nilam Vasava, had to get eight stitches after she was injured with a sharp piece of metal. The perpetrator, Ramsinh Padvi, also attacked Vasava when she was standing on the roadside on Wednesday at around 8:30 a.m. Padvi told the police that he wanted to kill her for refusing to marry him or continue with their relationship of three years which broke after her refusal for engagement. Vasava and Padvi worked together at a garment manufacturing unit a few years ago, where they met and developed a relationship. Padvi proposed marriage in 2019 but the woman refused to get engaged to him and ended the relationship. Padvi had even earlier attacked the victim out of anger and injured her in 2020. Vasava recently started work again when Padvi approached her again. Padvi had an argument with her on December 17 and threatened her with dire consequences. The police said that Vasava is stable and will recover.
