This is about the Vadodara Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel handing over the Nayay Mandir (a building dedicated to citizens) to the Vadodara Municipal Corporation VMC. The VMC plans to use the building to create a city heritage museum. The decision to hand over the building was formally taken by the revenue department about a year ago, and the plans to set up a city museum and other facilities at Nayay Mandir were being discussed since 2014. The Nayay Mandir was dedicated to citizens on November 30, 1896 by the Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III. The building was originally supposed to be a vegetable market, but eventually became used for the judiciary of Baroda State. The building was never deserted or unoccupied until 2018, when the courts shifted to a new building in Diwalipura.
