Antonio Conte has provided a team news update to journalists who have attended Tottenham Hotspur’s pre-Brentford press conference from Hotspur Way this afternoon.
With the World Cup now in the history books, Tottenham return to action in the Premier League on Boxing Day when they make the short trip to the Brentford Community Stadium.
The north Londoners head into the fixture against the Bees in fourth place in the table and will be looking to secure all three points with the race for a top-four finish already looking as if it will be a hotly contested affair.
Such is the protocol, the media are informed of the availability of the Spurs squad ahead of the clash against Thomas Frank’s side.
Conte has revealed that Fraser Forster will start the Brentford match, with Hugo Lloris on the bench, while Ivan Perisic will be ‘available’ for the game too. Cristian Romero, however, will only be available for the game against Aston Villa on New Year’s Day.
He said (Football London): “Only Ivan came back today and had a training session with us. He’s available for the game against Brentford. Lloris came back to stay with us and want him to also stay on the bench and stay with us for the game against Brentford.
“As you know very well after World Cup give rest to players. Cuti he will be available for next game against Aston Villa.”
