Columbus Crew sign veteran D Jimmy Medranda

The Columbus Crew signed free agent defender Jimmy Medranda for the 2023 season on Friday.

The deal includes an option for 2024 for the 10-year MLS veteran.

Medranda, 28, has recorded nine goals and 11 assists in 145 matches (87 starts) with Sporting Kansas City (2013-19), Nashville SC (2020) and the Seattle Sounders (2020-22).

The Colombia native has won an MLS Cup, two Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cups and a 2022 Concacaf Ch
