It is learnt that in one particular jump, several troops received injuries after 25 of them lost their helmets mid-air, due to the poor quality of the helmets. This resulted in injuries to the face, shoulder and ears of the paratroopers. Another unit reported that five helmets came off mid-air during a practice jump. Losing a helmet mid-air can be particularly dangerous given the lethal speed of descent and presence of a several fellow soldiers in close proximity.
