The federal Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that about 663,500 Samsung top-loading washing machines have been recalled due to fire hazard reports. Retail prices for the washers ranged from $900 to $1,500, and they were available at Best Buy, Costco, Lowe's, and other appliance stores around the nation.
