Tiny and foggy early
Hello Friends,
Dense fog early this morning in Sydney was just beginning to burn off when your correspondent climbed aloft for a look at the conditions around 0900. As expected, it’s close to flat thanks to only 0.8 metres of 8 second south swell. Wind was light from the NNE at report time, but should be around to a standard issue 15-20 NEr by this afternoon. Unfortunately there’s no real prospect of an improvement to the swell energy until around Thursday afternoon. And it could be next week before the wind and swell settings come together for us.
Have a great Boxing Day everyone.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea is extending a ridge towards northeast New South Wales today, directing generally east to northeasterly winds along the coast. This pattern will remain relatively unchanged for the next few days, with the next trough and southerly change forecast to reach southern waters late Wednesday, continuing to central parts of the coast on Thursday before stalling and decaying.
