Fans were absolutely shocked to learn that Henry Cavill was exiting his role of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher series.

The decision was revealed back in October 2022 while simultaneously announcing that Liam Hemsworth would be taking over the role from Henry.

According to Deadline, Henry only made a short term deal with Netflix to portray the fan favorite role on The Witcher. He decided the time was right after three seasons on the show to move on. Apparently, other factors included the fact that the show films overseas and had a demanding production schedule.

He has numerous other projects lined up and in the works and ultimately, felt the time was right to exit.
