This is a story about a woman named Punam Gowala and her son Rupam who were killed in a fire that broke out in their house. Punam and Rupam were asleep when the fire broke out and their house was completely destroyed. A person who claimed to be the grandfather of the dead child said that he and his son lived in the adjacent house and that his son was not at home when the incident occurred. His wife and his child were sleeping in their house at the time of the fire and his son was woken up by the loud cries of the child. He immediately rushed out and saw the entire house was engulfed in flames. He cut open one of the bamboo walls with a dao machete but the blaze was so intense that he could not enter and save them. It was all over in a matter of minutes.
