Gangster Act invoked on jailed SP MLA Irfan Solanki, brother

The joint commissioner of police (JP) of Kanpur, Anand Prakash Tiwari, said that the Kanpur police have invoked the Uttar Pradesh Gangster Act on jailed Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Irfan Solanki and his brother Rizwan Solanki. Tiwari said that in the case lodged at the Jajmau police station under Crime No 15622 and Section 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Gangster Act and Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act 1986, Irfan Solanki, his brother Rizwan Solanki, Israel Atte Wala Mohammad Sharif and Shaikhat Ali have been made accused.
