A fire broke out in a shopping area in Kanpur, India on Sunday night. The fire apparently was caused by sparks from a transformer near the railway line. The flames spread to six shops, one after the other, reducing the bamboo and house hold articles to ashes. It took over an hour for firefighters to control the flames. No injuries were reported in the incident. Investigations are underway to ascertain the exact cause of the fire.
