A couple living in the Vesu area was caught at the Dharampur Crossroads on National Highway 48 near Valsad with 34 bottles of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs. 7400. Police arrested Prashant Mehta and his wife Tina who were allegedly smuggling in the bottles from Daman for the New Year Celebration. Mehta runs a water purification business and they told police that they were carrying the liquor for selfconsumption and family. There is no past record of their involvement in bootlegging.
