Amid reports of a surge in Covid-19 cases in neighbouring China, coupled with fears over the new variant of the novel coronavirus, the department of health and family welfare in Mysuru district assured the public of its preparedness to effectively combat a new wave of infection. Officials in the health department said that there was adequate reserves of oxygen in the district, besides sufficient number of dedicated facilities to treat patients infected with the novel coronavirus.
