Car left completely crushed by tractor leaves three people in hospital

Three people have had a miraculous escape after the car they were in was crushed by a tractor.

The driver of the hatchback – a 23-year-old man – was charged with a range of driving offences after being treated for minor injuries along with his two passengers.

The collision happened about 10 miles out of Glasgow in Coatbridge at around 10pm last night.

A picture from the scene shows the tractor resting on top of the car which was partially flattened in the incident.

Everyone in the car was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital while the tractor driver walked away unharmed.

A report is being prepared for the Procurator Fiscal and the car driver will appear in court at a later date.
