I had nine people over on Christmas Day but I’m too lazy to cook – I just did freezer food, trolls say I’m revolting
A MUM who was too lazy to cook Christmas dinner decided to serve her nine guests freezer food – and trolls have called it ‘revolting.’
Mums tend to be the driving force behind making sure Christmas is magical, from spotting the gifts, wrapping them, and making a Christmas dinner feast.
But one mum, who couldn’t be bothered to put effort into her Christmas dinner decided to take some shortcuts.
Posting anonymously to Mumsnet, the woman revealed that she had just moved house and couldn’t cook.
But she didn’t want to let down her family as it was her turn to host Christmas this year.
Instead, she opted for frozen ingredients for the big meal.
These included – microwave pulled pork, frozen Brussels sprouts, frozen roast potatoes, frozen Yorkshire puddings, and topped it off with Bisto gravy.
To finish the feast she used a pre-made Christmas pudding for dessert.
In the post, she wrote: “We can’t cook so when it’s our turn we normally pay for going out for Xmas dinner.
“We moved house less than two weeks ago and with all the faff we forgot to book anything for 9 people so that’s why everyone had a frozen Xmas dinner this year.
“Everyone knew the menu and pulled pork was decided by everyone.
“No one cared and everyone mentioned how nice this year was as there was no pressure to finish it all as it had zero effort.”
She added she mainly hosted dinner because she wanted her family to see her new house and it ‘didn’t matter’ what was on the plate.
However, not everyone was convinced with some calling the zero-effort dinner ‘revolting.’
One wrote: “That sounds f***ing s**t.”
Another person commented: “I’d have left, not worth the effort even chewing that c**p.”
A third penned: “Did you seriously have frozen sprouts as the only veg, that in itself is revolting.”
Despite some negative comments, others rallied behind the mum, one wrote: “Someone didn’t want to spend Christmas Day chained to the kitchen. Fair play!”
A second person commented: “Sounds like a better option than slaving away all day in the kitchen prepping a huge turkey and a million sides.”
