Drugs raid at the Bistro leaves fan favourites in danger in Coronation Street
DAMON Hay is slowly taking over the entire Bistro, enabling a new drug business to evolve in the cobbles.
Soon enough, the police arrive on Coronation Street and a raid leaves two characters in danger.
Leanne Battersby (played by Jane Danson) was somewhat relieved when newcomer Damon Hay (Ciarán Griffiths) got involved with the Bistro.
But she may come to realise allowing him into the restaurant was a mistake.
Coming up on ITV, Damon introduces Leanne to a man called Dan, a fruit and veg supplier.
He even tells her Dan can do her a far better deal – but Jacob (Jack James Ryan) is suspicious of his father when Damon tells him that Dan’s first delivery is due in the afternoon.
To top it all off, Jacob learns a package containing drugs will be hidden in the crate of olive oil.
All hell could be breaking loose in later scenes of the soap when Jacob expects the first drugs delivery.
The lad panics when a party of police officers arrive for a retirement do… with a sniffer dog in tow.
A crate of olive oil is delivered and Jacob manages to get the package out before leaving the Bistro.
Unfortunately, the sniffer dog barks and attracts PC Craig Tinker’s attention.
The latter heads straight for Jacob’s flat – is the game already up?
Back in the bistro, Leanne and Ryan check through the rest of the delivery boxes, wondering why the dog barked.
Jacob suffers the consequences of the raid in later scenes as his father Damon gives him a beating in the ginnel.
He’s then warned – if he wants to protect his girlfriend Amy, he will have to disappear for good.

Shaken, Jacob finds it in him to tell Nick Tilsley how Damon is smuggling drugs through the restaurant and he has no other choice but to leave as Amy’s life is in serious danger.
When he hears Amy enter the flat, a desperate Jacob pretends he’s on the phone dealing drugs.
Amy is horrified, thinking he’s up to his old tricks.
What will she do?
