President Joe Biden is striking back at his predecessor, Donald Trump, warning that democracy is “more at risk in 2024." His comments on Tuesday came at a fundraiser for his reelection campaign and after Trump said Biden himself is the “destroyer of American democracy." Biden told donors that “American democracy, I give you my word as a Biden, is at stake" in the first of three fundraisers in Boston on Tuesday. One of the Boston events features a concert by singer-songwriter James Taylor. In the coming days, Biden will hit Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Philadelphia for more fundraisers. The LA fundraiser will be Biden's first there since actors and screenwriters ended their strikes.
