A 61-year-old New York man who allegedly shot his girlfriend to death with a crossbow has been charged with murder. The Erie County district attorney said Frank Litterio shot his 62-year-old girlfriend. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the couple's home at about 5 p.m. Wednesday in the western New York town of Elma, and found the victim, Jill Harris, dead from a crossbow wound. Deputies found Litterio suffering from a self-inflicted wound, apparently from a different weapon. Litterio was taken to a hospital, where he was arraigned Friday on a charge of second-degree murder. Litterio’s attorney, Herb Greenman, declined to comment.
