If you live in the European Union, iOS 17.4 is a massive upgrade. Apple began beta-testing the update on January 25 and outlined many of the changes that affect the apps and App Store experience on the iPhone. The primary aim of this release is to comply with the Digital Markets Act in the EU, which has a deadline of March 6. Apple has released the update just before that date.

Just a day after Apple announced the new MacBook Air with an M3 chip, benchmarks of the new laptops have appeared in the Geekbench results browser. And based on what we’ve seen, it looks like the Air results are like that of other M3-based Macs.

Records for “Mac15,13” have Single-Core scores ranging from 3125 to 3165, and Multi-Core scores ranging from 11890 to 12056. Those scores are a smidge lower than that of the M3 MacBook Pro and the M3 iMac we tested, but not much–about 10 to 15 points in each test. Читать дальше...

The upcoming HomePod Software 17.4, MacRumors reports, will feature what the site aptly describes as “a small but meaningful change.” Siri will gain the ability to learn a user’s preferred streaming service and automatically default to that service when commanded to play a song or other piece of streaming content. The news of the new M3 MacBook Air came with a little bit of a surprise: It can run two external displays with the laptop closed. That’s a change from the single-display support for all other M1, M2, and M3 MacBooks, including the current entry-level MacBook Pro, which uses the same chip as the new Air.

However, that’s going to change. 9to5Mac confirmed with Apple that the M3 MacBook Pro will be getting a software update that will allow the laptop to have the same external display support as the M3 MacBook Air.
