Stewards are not there to enforce security or deal with people breaking the law, they are there for safety and crowd control. They are specifically not supposed to get involved in incidents: they are not trained to do it and its unreasonable to ask them to put themselves in harms way. That's what stadium security and the Police are there for.

Trying to in any way shift blame from the individuals involved onto people working at the stadium is just wrong.

Doncaster RLFC • Halifax v Dons Sunday 26/5/24 3pm

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Halifax's last six league games:

7th April: Batley (H) Won 18-10
14th April: Widnes (A) Lost 40-14
21st April: Sheffield (H) Lost 46-0
28th April: Swinton (H) Lost 28-12
5th May: Fev (A) Lost 36-16
19th May: York (A) Lost 40-18

My bookmakers prediction: Dons to give Halifax 14 points start.

Halifax have conceded 33 points, on average, in their last six whilst scoring 13 on average.

Why are all these players bailing out at Leigh?

Feel for them a little bit - I doubt theres any one thing causing it. Money persuaded Asiata to leave and the NRL will always be a huge draw over a mid table Super League club. Hardaker and Holmes are very replaceable.

One thing Adrian Lam is very good at is scouting hidden talent in Australia - despite the horror... Читать дальше...

Gleeson, Grix, whoever. As long as JC is approving it, I'm happy. Really important that the coach has input over his backroom staff even if it's Myler and the club presenting him with candidates.

Wigan Warriors • Re: Walters

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

I think all the Brits down under this year have done well that have had a chance.

I watched an interview/podcast with Will Pryce last week and he is absolutely loving it and theres no way he is coming back anytime soon.

He mentioned having a trial at Saints as a youngster and they didn't want him. But he said himself until he was 17/18 he wasn't very good (his words)

I think he will get a few games next year and then we will see if he is good enough or if he will be coming to SL . Читать дальше...

Shifting it wide has worked against everyone so far, even catalans big pack.

We're gonna have to work hard to contain nsemba, though you can see fitz and dufty giving him some work in defence.

Tai in defence could be a worry,

I like Nsemba he’s big unit, good hard runner on the edges, his defence at times looks iffy. Has the odd penalty in him as well.. Wigan have got two very good seconds in Walter’s and Nsemba

Wish the lad a full recovery. Huge talent and yet another blow for us in the forwards. The club are doing the right thing and i do wonder if it's the Stevie Ward case that's leading us to be ultra ultra cautious.

Think you might have a point there. When any of our players gets a concussion it always seems to be an extended recovery. Holroyd is the latest example. Читать дальше...

Hull FC • State of the Nation

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

Looking a tad more positive than 6 weeks ago.

Smith and Gene jettisoned
Mega experienced serious NRL head coach appointed
Gaz Ellis brought back
Marquee signing in
Quota spots being freed up

Obviously there's other less positive stuff (Hardaker for one) but if we keep bringing in players incrementally better than those here, add a sprinkling of quality like Asiata, and continue to develop the likes of Martin and Charles, the medium term outlook is definitely improved v 11th April. Not surprised, and another I wish to thank for all his efforts so far and for the rest of the season. He's been massive for us and will be difficult to replace, but replace him we will.

Those 3 (Wigan, Warrington, Saints) look well clear of the rest when they are on their game. That Wigan pack is huge. Very envious of it. We remain a long way off them imo.

Spot on, it’s not rocket science (hate that expression) you build a team around a big powerful and mobile pack. We have under Smith failed to do that.

Wakefield Trinity • Re: Oliver Russell

Rugby League Supporters Association Online

If you watched the try time podcast fixing Hull, they discuss who they would sign for them. The players available are pretty average with all the better ones been the ones we have signed. Russell was very highly rated but Watson doesn't play him and he is very frustrated I think. He never gets a decent run out and I feel he is a player with a point to prove.

Ste Mills hasn't got anything wrong up to now so if Powell and Mills rate him at least give the lad a chance.

I found this interesting from the Academy coach in relation to what we've been discussing.

That seems a lot more nuanced and balanced than what Rush has said or what some fans seem to think is an almost foregone conclusion that they will come through and succeed at this level.
