Stocks edged higher as Wall Street readies for a week packed with potentially market-moving news. The S&P 500 rose 0.3% Monday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average climbed 0.4%, and the Nasdaq composite rose 0.3%. The death of a Colorado woman who disappeared nearly four years ago has been ruled a homicide. Authorities revealed the result of Suzanne Morphew's autopsy on Monday. Morphew disappeared in May 2020. The 49-year-old woman's remains were found in September 2023. Her husband, Barry Morphew, was charged with murder and other crimes in 2021 but the charges were later dropped. Authorities say none of the 10 people who were wounded in a shootout at a Florida restaurant over the weekend, including Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell, suffered life-threatening injuries. The shootout happened early Sunday during a party at the Cabana Live restaurant in Sanford, north of Orlando. Seminole County Sheriff Dennis Lemma said Monday that more than 200 people were at the restaurant when a 16-year-old opened fire after an altercation, followed by an unidentified male also opening fire. Three Louisiana police officers were wounded by gunfire in a standoff with a man who was later killed by a police sharpshooter.
