FINANCE Minister Colm Imbert yesterday said there is no truth to claims by the Opposition that people will have to pay property taxes for 2016 and 2017. FINANCE Minister Colm Imbert yesterday condemned the Opposition for trying to frighten squatters into believing they would have to pay exorbitant property taxes. Imbert issued his condemnation during the post-Cabinet news conference at the Diplomatic Centre in St Ann’s, as he and Attorney General Faris Al-Rawi explained that squatters would only pay property taxes once they are determined by law to be property owners.
