PRIME MINISTER Dr Keith Rowley yesterday skipped debate on the mid-year Budget review in Parliament, journeying instead to Maper Farm in Biche where he inspected over a million tree saplings. The tree types included mango, avocado, citrus, softwood and hardwood some of which will be planted along sloping areas of the Northern Range left denuded by raging forest fires.

WORKS and Transport Minister Rohan Sinanan yesterday gave the assurance that the Port Authority will ensure that, “stringent measures are put in place to ensure all food stuffs that have to go to Tobago will get priority at this time.” Sinanan also said the Authority is evaluating all proposals for a replacement vessel for the Super Fast Galicia which was pulled from the seabridge last month.

300 passengers, among them pensioners, were left waiting for ten hours yesterday at the port in Port-of-Spain before they could board the TT Express for Tobago. This is the latest in a series of problems plaguing the seabridge ever since the MV Superfast Galicia was pulled from sailing last month.
