FLASH FLOOD WARNING
The National Weather Service in Austin/San Antonio has extended the
* Flash Flood Warning for...
East Central Bexar County in south central Texas...
Southwestern Guadalupe County in south central Texas...
Northern Wilson County in south central Texas...
* Until 700 AM CST.
* At 333 AM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
between 5 and 9 inches of rain have fallen. Flash flooding is
already occurring. While rainfall is ending, it will take several
more hours for water to recede.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
St. Hedwig, China Grove, New Berlin, and Zuehl.
This includes the following streams and drainages...
Martinez Creek, Cibolo Creek, Salitrillo Creek, and Women
Hollering Creek.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
