...Rain changing to snow with flash freeze expected over the St
Lawrence Valley this afternoon...
A sharp cold front will quickly change rain to snow with rapidly
falling temperatures on developing gusty southwest winds of 40 to
50 mph. This could cause a potential flash freeze on area roads
and result in slick and hazardous travel this afternoon.
Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...
Icy roads are possible...producing hazardous travel conditions.
If you must travel, please use caution. Conditions can deteriorate
rapidly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for snow or ice
covered roads. Slow down and allow extra time when traveling.
...LAKESHORE FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM EST
SATURDAY...
* WHAT...Significant lakeshore flooding.
* WHERE...Lake Erie and Upper Niagara River shore of Niagara,
Erie, and Chautauqua counties.
* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Saturday.
* IMPACTS...Water levels at the eastern end of Lake Erie will
remain 2-3 feet above flood stage and result in significant
lakeshore flooding along the Lake Erie and Upper Niagara River
shores into this evening. Along the Lake Erie shore, flooding is
likely along Route 5 in Hamburg, Buffalo Harbor, Canalside,
Buffalo Riverworks, Dunkirk Harbor, the Hoover Beach and
Woodlawn areas in Hamburg, Old First ward in South Buffalo, and
other flood prone locations. Along the Upper Niagara River,
flooding is likely to affect Grand Island, Cayuga Island, and
