Three members of a lift-and-loot gang in Gurgaon have been sentenced to five years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 10,000 each. The gang would offer lifts to people and then rob them after offering spiked drinks. In a 2018 case, the victim was given a spiked juice packet and later found himself unconscious and robbed of cash, a mobile phone, and an ATM card. The gang was arrested and found guilty of multiple charges, including causing hurt by poison and theft. The court emphasized the need for strict punishment due to pending similar cases.
