House fire in Rocky Hill leaves one person temporarily homeless
One person was displaced after a house fire in Rocky Hill Wednesday evening.
Firefighters responded to the report of a structure fire around 6:14 p.m. at a single-family home on Dividend Road, according to the Rocky Hill Fire Department. One person who was home when the fire broke out was able to get out of the house safely before firefighters arrived.
No injuries were reported.
The first units on scene found smoke showing and activated a response from Task Force 51, which includes firefighters from the Cromwell, Wethersfield, Berlin and Newington Fire Departments.
An exterior attack was initiated when firefighters spotted heavy smoke and flames coming from the roof of the home, according to the Rocky Hill Fire Department. They were able to make an interior attack of the blaze after the roof was vented, firefighters said.
The fire was brought under control just before 7 p.m. The damage left the house temporarily uninhabitable, firefighters said.
The Rocky Hill Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
