My three-ingredient favor bag will keep mice out of your home, their strong sense of smell makes it easy
AN old-fashioned mouse repellent will keep the critters out of your home.
The three-ingredient favor bag full of pungent aromas will activate the nose hairs of these little rodents alerting them to danger.
Once they catch a whiff of this potent mix, they will scarper, said Babs (@brunchwithbabs).
This lady has 3.9 million followers on TikTok, where she shares her practical solutions.
But there was an awful lot of interest in this post. It went viral, with a whopping 681,000 likes and over 4,000 comments.
“DIY anti-mouse bags,” she said holding up the secret to a rodent-free home.
“It’s that time of year again, when our little creepy crawly friends come to pay a visit and see shelter, water and food.”
But Babs figured the old-fashioned way was the best way to fix this problem.
“Did your mom every tell you that there’s a natural way to keep mice out of your house?” she said.
Her toxin-free method used strong-smelling spices and it seemed to work.
“These DIY anti-mouse bags save the day. The best part, they are all-natural and you are likely to have all the ingredients in your home right now.”
Her method was super simple: “Just grab some favor bags and add one tablespoon of red pepper flakes, a tablespoon of whole cloves, and one cinnamon stick.”
Once filled, she tied them up and positioned them strategically around the house, any areas that might attract mice, including cupboards and closets.
There was a good reason the critters were repelled by her stinky bags.
“Mice have a very intense sense of smell and strong smells like this keep them away,” she explained.
“They rely on their sense of smell to sense danger. These spices scream keep away. The best part it’s all natural.
The comments section was very lively.
