A WOMAN today insisted her raging XL Bully that left a 12-year-old boy in hospital after a horrific dog attack is “great around kids”.

Mohid Gardazee, 12, was cycling near his home in Oldham, Greater Manchester, when the beast attacked him last month.

Claudia Stoicu, 31, was also mauled after she rushed to help the injured youngster.

The schoolboy was rushed to hospital where he spent more than three hours in surgery with “potentially life-changing” injuries.

Paula Jenkins, 43, has now pleaded guilty to two charges of owning a dog dangerously out of control.

Tameside Magistrates’ Court heard Mohid was cycling past the dog when it “latched onto his right arm” and pulled him off his bike.

Horrified bystanders chucked brooms, a car tyre and even metal poles at the raging animal but it continued to sink its teeth in.

Jenkins attempted to drag the dog off Mohid but it ran away and then attacked Ms Stoicu, who was dragged to the ground and repeatedly bitten.

Speaking after the case, Jenkins apologised for the attack.

She told The Sun Online: “Of course, I regret what happened.

“But the circumstances behind it were really nasty.

“Milo has been like a baby to me and I was traumatised when I saw what he did to the boy.

“He’s never been aggressive before and is normally a happy dog who’s great around children.”

It comes after Mohid’s family told how they feared the youngster was dead after the devil dog attacked.

Dad Ahmad Gardazee, 52, also praised his neighbours who “risked their lives” to save his son.

The accountant said: “People were saying the boy was dead. But luckily, luckily he survived.

“I was thinking, ‘It could be my fault’. All those things go through your mind – how is he going to do in the future with his right arm?

“My wife was crying, my daughter was crying. But we are very thankful to our neighbours who called the police and the ambulance.

“When we knew he was alive, we relaxed.”

Mohid was treated by paramedics before being rushed to Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital where he endured hours of painful surgery.

Thankfully doctors were able to save his 12-year-old’s arm and close up most of his wounds.

Armed police were scrambled to the horror, with the dog “safely detained”.

It comes as ministers announced XL Bully dogs will be banned in Britain from December 31.

Anyone who defies the ban under the Dangerous Dogs Act faces up to 14 years behind bars.

Jenkins, of Oldham, will be sentenced at Minshull Street Crown Court on November 11.
